PCM Thermal Battery — 3 Tank Cascade
Cold return fluid enters Tank 1 → flows through Tank 2 → exits Tank 3 hot to heating load. Each tank uses a different PCM material at a different phase-change temperature.
Charge/Discharge Control Rules
PCM charges ONLY when generator is running
PCM discharges ONLY when generator is OFF
Discharge stops when Tank 3 fluid drops to ≤100°F
Toyo fires independently via thermostat — no PCM dependency

STANDBY
Toggle this when you physically light or extinguish your wood stove. The system will immediately account for the fire's heat output, reduce Toyo demand, prioritize PCM Tank 3 charging, and update AI fuel forecasts.
Fire Session Statistics
⚡🔥 Renewable Routing Priority
Controls where solar thermal panel output goes — to PCM Tank 3 heating elements (heat) or to the DC bus as electricity. Electrical solar and wind always go to the DC bus/battery regardless.
—
SMART rules (applied to all renewables when solar thermal heating elements are connected):
Battery < 50% → ⚡ electric — all solar & wind charge the battery
Battery ≥ 50% AND Tank 3 < 90% → 🔥 heat — solar & wind feed Tank 3 elements
Otherwise → ⚡ electric

Heat Exchanger → PCM Tank 3
A flue-gas heat exchanger captures exhaust heat and routes it into PCM Tank 3 (NaNO₃/KNO₃, 250°F). Recovery is capped at 30% of stove output — the remainder continues heating the room normally.

🔥 PCM discharges when generator is off (until T3 fluid hits 100°F)
🛢 Toyo covers any remaining gap to meet thermostat setpoint
⚡ Generator runs only to charge battery (SoC 20% → 95%)
24-Hour Burn Schedule
Wood heat is SUPPLEMENTAL — PCM and Toyo still operate independently.

AUTO — Temperature rules (no override) AI — Lookahead engine sets schedule each cycle MANUAL — You pick the hours; AI never touches it
🔆 Solar Electric Heating Elements — Tank 3 (PCM Thermal Battery)
DC solar panels drive electric resistance heating elements submerged directly in Tank 3 (NaNO₃/KNO₃ nitrate salt, 250°F PCM — the highest-temp tank). The tank charges from solar heat whenever sunlight is available — completely independent of the generator. When the generator is off and the sun is shining, Tank 3 continues charging and eventually discharges heat through the full PCM cascade to the building.

🤖 AI Control System
When enabled, the AI runs a 24-hour lookahead simulation every few minutes and automatically adjusts: generator mode, wood stove schedule, and solar thermal routing to minimize fuel use while keeping the home comfortable.
